What is Palm Sunday?

Palm Sunday marks the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and holds profound significance in the Christian tradition. Palm Sunday invites us to welcome Jesus into our hearts, follow Him faithfully, and remember His sacrificial love which lead us to the joyous celebration of Easter. Also it’s a day of celebration, anticipation, and profound significance. Let’s explore this momentous event through Scripture.

1. Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

2. Matthew 21:10-11 “When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, ‘Who is this?’ The crowds answered, ‘This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.’”

3. John 12:13 “So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!’”
